Our Sommelier program began in 2017 when Jeffrey Baldwin joined the business as Director of Operations. He knew that the ‘owner’s son’ had to bring more to the table than just a Bachelors of Business Administration from Northwood University. He knew he had to bring a skillset that would strengthen the brand. With over half of our beverage sales in wine, he knew becoming SOMM would add the most value to the business.
It was ambitious for Jeffrey to gain his certification in 4 months and after completion of it, we knew it was scalable. We created a sponsorship program covering half of the exam for any employee interested. Today we now have 14 level 1 Sommeliers! Now any day that we are open we have an expert on staff that can speak intelligently so that you receive the elevated experience.
