The Baldwin Restaurant Group is all about one thing…Family. This independent chef-owned and operated group was started by Chef Jeff Baldwin and his wife Rosemarie in 2004.

Their two sons, Jeffrey and Michael, grew up in the restaurant business. Jeffrey worked as a host, server and expediter at J.Baldwin’s Restaurant from the time he was old enough to start working until he graduated from college. Mike preferred to be in the back of the house with his father, bussing tables and washing dishes, and then cooking along side his dad when he could.

After graduating from high school, Mike followed in his dad’s footsteps and went on to get a bachelor’s degree in Culinary Science and Hospitality from the Culinary Institute of America. After graduation, he returned to J.Baldwin’s Restaurant to learn more about running a restaurant, and help his parents grow the Baldwin Restaurant Group brand.

The Baldwin Restaurant Group (BRG) isn’t just about the Baldwin family. Once you join the BRG, you are treated like family as well! We are a close knit team who truly enjoy working together. We believe that teamwork is essential to our success, and is what is going to help our company grow. Testa Barrá, the second restaurant for the BRG, is scheduled to open in Spring, 2017. In addition, we are currently in discussions with a development group to open a third restaurant, J.Baldwin’s Prime, in the historic Fisher Building in downtown Detroit.
